One of Schick’s main interests was mapping and planning of the landscape. He had a good eye for forms and levels and made himself a number of maps and drawings; of the city of Jerusalem, of cisterns and aqueducts – always interested in the water system of the city, illustrations of archaeology. Many pictures were published in the European Magazines he regularly wrote for, in fact his illustrations were often the only once printed – a magazine with some hundreds of pages with text and three illustrations by Schick.

He gave the readers not only words but also pictures.
