Lutheran Guest House

One of his first buildings was this Guest House, close to the Holy Sepulchre. The Guest House was build before the Redeemer – the Lutheran Church at Muristan in Jerusalem.

The house was built upon a crusader foundation in 1860 and retains ancient stones from the 12th century and probably before. Conrad Schick was the architect.

In 1948 it was donated to the Order of  St. John, who used it as an eye hospital and in 1964 it was turned into a guest house by the Lutheran Church.

It is a good example of his personal style of architecture with a number of marked out arches.
